Resources and FAQ:

Studio Policy (please read!)

Where do I rent an instrument?

  • I highly recommend Vermont Violins. We are connected to their wonderful shop as a studio and if you mention you are with The Violin Studio of Heather Münch they will be sure to get you set up and playing in no time.

    • Contact Vermont Violins to schedule an appointment/discuss rental options: 802-862-0349

Where can I purchase the Suzuki Book 1 and CD combo?

  • Hilary Hahn recently released her new recording of the Suzuki Books with pianist, Natalie Zhu. Please purchase the Suzuki Book 1 CD along with the first book.

Does anyone even use CD’s anymore?

  • Yes, but if you prefer to use a streaming service such as iTunes or Spotify that is also fine. The recording must be of professional quality. I do not recommend using YouTube.

What other materials should I expect to purchase?

  • There will be approx. 1-2 book that you will be expected to purchase when you first enroll. As your child progresses there will be additional study books that will be necessary to purchase. Do not hesitate to speak with Heather about any concerns regarding necessary materials aside from an instrument and bow.

How often should my child be practicing?

  • It’s recommended that your child practice everyday, this will be discussed in their lessons and can be tailored to meet each students learning needs. As a parent of a new violin student it’s expected that you provide encouraging support, especially when it comes to at-home practice time. Find a quiet space in your home that has zero distractions, seek out fun and enjoyable ways to encourage healthy practice.
